I would like to know what is the difference in the two probit methods used
as in the help text it explains only that the second method is Finney's method
but there is no explanation about the first one.

In brief -
Finney method applies Log() transformation before/after working
MLS method just uses least-squares method (and no iterations)
Finney method is commonly used in U.S., and uses technics described
in the Finney work (Finney, D. J. (1971). Probit analysis. Cambridge, MA: Cambridge University Press. ) and the MLS method is commonly used in eastern Europe and Russia.
Details are provided in the new StatPlus 2007 help.
